Eghbal Hamidy joined Jordan Grand Prix as the team's technical Director, ready for the start of the 2001 Formula One season. Commenting on his new role, Eghbal said, "The role of a Technical Director is very much established in the F1 and it encompasses various areas and engineering disciplines. I will be looking to focus my efforts on pulling together and developing a cohesive car design package with the skilled team of people that Jordan has in this area, rather than on operational issues."
